Improved Ecotoxicity/Irritation Glyphosate Adjuvants

Atlox AL-2575 and Tween 20 are environmentally friendly glyphosate adjuvant alternatives to tallow amine ethoxylates. Although they are highly effective with glyphosate, tallow amine ethoxylates such as Atlas G-3780A commonly exhibit significant aquatic toxicity and eye irritation. Due to its ongoing research into improving the human and environmental profile of its portfolio for crop protection, Croda has accumulated significant data on the adjuvancy performance of both Atlox AL-2575 and Tween 20. This shows comparable biological performance to the commonly used tallow amine ethoxylates while offering superior ecotoxicity and product safety.

The best overall candidate identified by this research to date is Atlox AL-2575 which can be used for built-in or tank mix glyphosate adjuvant formulations. For optimal product safety of tank mix formulations and uniformly good performance with a variety of glyphosate admixtures, Tween 20 should be considered.
